Young Church
We meet every Sunday morning during school term time at 10.30 am for an hour, except for All Age services where everyone goes into the service. Each Sunday we go into the church service for the first fifteen minutes and then go into our specialist groups.
In SMaRTTys we listen to a story from the Bible and then we might do a craft, play a game, sing a song, do some drama or any other fun activity linked to the Bible story. The SMaRTT leaders use the magazine “Roots” to combine Bible study with fun activities. We also listen to the Bible story and we sometimes act the story out using the puppets. Often SMaRTT and SMaRTTys participate in All Age services with drama, readings and puppets and music. SMaRTT also raise money for charity by making things such as cards and bookmarks, or holding “Guess the name of the teddy” competitions. We have supported Christian Aid and Helen and Douglas House, which is a respite for children and young adults up to forty years of age. At the end of our session we join the rest of the congregation in the hall for drinks and biscuits. Sometimes SMaRTT sell the things they have made. We display our work on our notice board.
